1st July - A Full Showing of our Lent Movie 'The Way'
During the weeks leading up to Easter, we had a series showing the Movie ‘The Way’. This is a lovely film starring Martin Sheen as Tom, an optometrist. It tells the story of Tom's son beginning the 481-mile pilgrimage across northern Spain to Santiago - 'The Camino de Santiago de Compostela' - 'The Way'. On the first day of his pilgrimage walk, his son is involved in an accident and dies. Tom takes on the mantle of walking the Camino for his son. He meets along the way three travelling companions. Each of the four characters has a story that emerges during their walk together. It is lovely to see how those relationships grow. The movie is gentle and full of poignant moments, and lots of emotion. Their breathtaking arrival at the Santiago is alone worth watching the film for. Tuesday 1 July at 10am in church, I hope you can come. It last two hours with coffee.
